Kids are gone, our own new house just for us. After much research we selected all KitchenAid appliances. We are delighted with the small, but thoughtful design features that have been included such as three drawers in the freezer give me a fair chance of finding something without having to ask my wife. Grandkids love it too!

We have had the fridge for two years now. All has been good except this summer it froze up inside and stopped cooling alltogether.
We had to remove all the food and shelves in order to use a hair dryer to melt all the ice buildup inside the fridge on and inside the back wall.
After that all afternoon procedure ... it has been fine since.

I'm having the same issue many of the other reviewers have had. The back end will frost and freezes up into a giant ice cube behind the bottom drawer and the fridge stops cooling. I've had three service tech calls and one time they even replaced the entire wiring harness, thermostat, fan, etc. Problem still occurs.. Now Kitchenaid tech is saying the motherboard has to be replaced which is going to run me an additional $400 on top of what I have already spent, but reading the other reviews is discouraging because that doesn't sound like it will fix it either. Never buying a Kitchenaid product again.

I purchased this in Dec. of 2017. I put in my 4th service call request today and am still waiting to schedule a time. It freezes up behind the drawers with a solid sheet of ice. I was told the last time it was repaired in May 2019 that there was a defect but the new parts would correct it. Obviously it didn't. Kitchenaid doesn't stand behind their product. There was a recall on the 707 earlier but not my serial # therefore they refuse to make this right. I love the features but for the price I should not be dealing with it freezing up like it is. I should be offered credit at least on a replacement.

I bought this refrigerator a couple months ago. It has been the refrigerator I dreamed of having and was so in love but......it started to not make ice and then not cool properly. We've been waiting for the repair parts to arrive and while waiting for the repairs to be done the compressor go out. It is warranted and will be fixed "properly " we hope. Just very disappointed to spend the extra for this beautiful refrigerator and have this happen with in months. Other than this happening the refrigerator is beautiful and full of room! Not sure if I would recommend this product since it's not repair or replaced as of yet! That's why I'm saying no.

We have now had our refrigerator for over a year and I can confidently say that we have no regrets. Everything works as expected and we have had no issues so far! We love the variety of drawers and bins to organize our items. The water and ice dispenser work flawlessly and I especially love that the water dispenser reminds us when it is time to order a new filter. The freezer is just as great as the fridge. Again, we love the variety of drawers. Our previous refrigerator required us to open the right door before opening the left, and we love that this refrigerator allows us to open either one at any time.

Purchased with new home 9/2018. Immediately had super loud buzzing noise; tech took two or three trips to diagnose and fix. Buzzing noise stopped, but still very noisy. Sounds like a bathroom fan ALL THE TIME. This can't be normal, right? Never have I had a fridge that is so noisy. Other brands' new fridges sound nothing like this. So we call tech service again, comes out, says this is normal for this model, nothing they can/will do. If this noise is normal it's a huge design defect. It's REALLY loud. Very disappointed in design/quality. Especially given the price. I've had $800 refrigerators not make this kind of noise.

I've had this refrigerator for almost a year now and I'm very pleased with it. The interior is very sleek and well thought out. One of the shelves slides back so you can put tall items there. Also, the shelves and drawers are very good quality. The water dispenser has a really nice feature. You can choose an amount of water you want put in your glass a just push the fill button and it fills the glass without you having to stand there and push the glass against the paddle. Overall, this fridge has been very good.

Great frig. Sleek interior. Ice maker is slow to make ice but is super quiet when it does and drops into the ice box. Also I guess it's for safety? But the ice or water won't dispense if the other door is open which kind of is annoying. But overall I love this frig! I also like the drawers in the freezer because it allows me to make use of what would otherwise be useless air space on top unless I was to

I bought this model two years ago. We have called the warranty company twice for the same issue. Defrost system malfunctions, unit freezes up and refrigerator doesn't cool. The last time it took 20 days to get the part in, due to the required part being backordered, after the warranty company sent a contractor out to identify the problem.

I've had the refrigerator over a month and I love it! It runs quietly and has cool features like a full-width drawer with a separate temperature control for storing sodas and wine. The interior lights are great-not too bright for a mid-night snack-and even line some shelves.
The freezer drawer has a place for large pizzas, two separate, full-width pull out drawers, and deep bottom compartments.
I could go on and on with the features this appliance has, but I will just say this: I am pleased with my purchase and was so impressed with the KitchenAid refrigerator that I also purchased the dishwasher and range to match!

Bought in June 2018, still paying for fringe on 18 month 0% interest... Last week, wife noticed huge ice buildup behind the temperature control door.... it took us almost an hour to get it all defrosted. 3 days later, it is back, just as bad as before.... not sure why or how to prevent. Prior to this, no issues, worked great (except ice capacity, a little small for as much as we use).

We love this fridge! The only thing I miss is the butter storage. Other than that, we have no complaints. It's convenient and easy to use. It keeps our food fresh and is well structured. The lighting also plays a big part in its ease of use.

I like to look and the layout of this refrigerator, the different freezer drawers really help with organizing and separating fish from poultry and vegies. however, drawers overall don't seem sturdy and have a cheap feel.

We bought a kitchen full of Kitchen Aid product for our new home in October 2015 on the advice of the salesman at our builders preferred supplier. Made in America he said, not that foreign junk! Well I previously had a LG refrigerator that worked great and produced all the ice I needed!
My story is the same as most here, it freezes up behind the deli drawer and also the ice maker has totally stopped working. The first 2 times it was repaired on warranty, they replaced a thermocouple that crimps onto a line in the area that it freezes up. When it freezes up it affects the ice maker as well! Any way after the first 3 times this happened and it was out of warranty I started thawing it out myself. Now after 3 years I'm pretty good at making it work for up to about 6 months at a time. I just had to do it again today and I think we are ready to just be finished with this piece of junk!

My wife and I purchased this refrigerator recently and are very satisfied with it thus far. It has sufficient space to keep and maintain all items at the appropriate temperature. The freezer area has two separate compartments where smaller items can be stored and a large compartment for bulk item storage. We really like the platinum interior look that sets this refrigerator apart from others we viewed.

Less than 2-years old. Thank God I purchased an extended warranty. This is a beautiful fridge & I love it. The functionality inside is great & there are LED lights on the underside of the two lower glass shelves. Terrific/
Unfortunately, the freezer lights went out, then the side fridge lights started flickering. The ice maker has a warm spot top left side & makes a nice ball of ice. The drip tray under the water/ice dispenser is FAKE!! If you spill water, it just runs down the front & onto the floor.
Several repair attempts failed. Finally they found a Short in the wiring, but no idea where. Best Buy is replacing, however it won't be with another Whirlpool/Kitchenaid product. Luckily, I get to choose. Why don't these big companies care?

We purchased this refrigerator in Feb 2019 and had Best Buy hold it for us while we finished a kitchen remodel. It was delivered March 19. There were two slight indentations on the front stainless door, and some scratch marks as well. We requested a replacement but was told that model had been discontinued. It is a very pretty refrigerator especially with the platinum interior. Best Buy gave us a $200 gift card for accepting it with the cosmetic flaws.
There is plenty of ice production, food kept nice and cold, plenty of storage and good configuration of drawers and shelves. One problem, however, is it is VERY difficult to remove and reinstall the left crisper. My advice: don't remove it, period. Just wipe it out frequently in its place.
After 30 days the water dispenser started dispensing real cloudy and off-colored water. The filter monitor said it was at 100%. I called KitchenAid and was told to try a new filter to see if that would work. I put a new filter in and flushed it real well. That still didn't fix the problem. KitchenAid sent a technician out. He checked it all out and concluded that these new refrigerators come with a small water filter and if you haven't dispensed enough water through the filter for a while, air can get in the line coming from the house connection. If that should happen again, just flush 2-3 glasses of water through the filter and the water will clear up. Although it's a pain to have to do that, it does seem to solve the problem. One other thing, double-check the filter's expiration date, that can make a difference as well.
All in all, we really do like this refrigerator. Too bad it has been discontinued.

The money spent on parts and repairs and the loss of food is ridiculous but the inconvenience is beyond frustrating. It looks like from other reviews we're expected to defrost our $3000 + fridge every 6 months??? My family has always bought Kitchenaid products but this is the last! Over the course of a year we have had constant Ice Maker issues. My understanding is the original issue was because the temp sensor was placed in sub optimal location. Since having this fixed we have had multiple call backs because the cooling coils continue to frost over, which causes the ice maker to fail. The list fix replaced multiple parts including the control board in user interface. In addtion, we've had the entire freezer drawer replaced because the seal was failing.
Now we are just out of the warranty period and the ice maker has failed again. We picked this fridge
because it was the top of the line, so much for you get what you pay for. Hopefully someone from kitchenaid will this and make it right.

I bought my refrigerator in November and didn't get it delivered till the end of February so I've been using it since the end of March when we installed it and already had to replace the $45 water filter. There is a constant drip line from the tray that you can't dry completely and the freezer has frosted over several times. I feel rather embarrassed about my decision when friends and family voice their opinion. I am not sure if any of these issues are eligible for replacement I have not taken the time to contact Home Depot to find this out. I think I may find time to investigate my options. If you have any information that may help I would appreciate it.

This fridge will look great when you get it and work great for the first few months, but DO NOT let that deceive you. We have had our fridge for 2 years and it has been nothing but problems. The icemaker stopped working after 6 months, we have had it repaired and then eventually replaced completely and it STILL is not working to this day (we have since given up and bought an external ice maker). The water dispenser is incredibly loud. Water continually pools under the deli tray, so you have to take the tray out and mop up the water every 1-2 months or the water will start to spill into the freezer or onto your floor. The latest issue is the entire fridge stopped cooling due to vents becoming completely frozen solid (this is likely due to a plugged drain line, a continual problem with this fridge). AVOID THIS FRIDGE LIKE THE PLAGUE....Kitchenaids other appliances are great, but their fridges DO NOT WORK. Please avoid them....we are stuck wtih a $4500 lemon.

Now, it seems as if the entire cooling system has gon out for no reason! I am very upset because we paid a lot for this appliance and we cannot afford to have to pay for multiple repairs for a brand new refrigerator. I've had this refrigerator for less than 2 years and this is the 4th time that frost/ice build up behind the deli drawer prevents the refrigerator from getting cold enough to keep food fresh. The first two times I also had a really loud noise, almost like a fan was making contact with something. The refrigerator seems to work great once completely defrosted but 4 to 6 months later it starts all over again. This time however, there is no unusual noise, just heavier ice build up than the previous times.
