We bought this because it is counter depth and looks so much better than the bulky, larger refrigerators that aren't counter depth. The ice maker is easy to access and the water is inside the door and is very easy as well.

We like the look and size of our new refrigerator. We have had some trouble with the freezer icing up. I thought since it was smaller we would not like it as much as our old fridge, but it is great. Water inside works great too.

Love the counter depth, made a big difference in my galley kitchen. Lots of ice and has nice storage. It is quiet. It does have gray rather than stainless steel on the sides.

All is great and as expected. Had an issue with it. It making ice for 1st week, then it just started producing ice one evening. Fast Ice isn't very "fast" but other than that, a great appliance.

We replaced our side by side with the French doors. It has a sleek design and is very spacious. I can see at a glance the items inside my fridge. The drawer at the bottom I use for my eggs, lunch meat, yogurts and puddings.
We enjoy the water feature inside the front door As well as the ability to see everything in the freezer. Everything is within reach quickly. A

Overall, we are really pleased with the new refrigerator / freezer. I like the simplicity of the unit - especially the old fashioned ice maker - better than the new fangled dispensers that seem to always break. The only minor issues I have is with storage in the freezer and periodic ice formation in the freezer. Otherwise, we love it.

Great fridge after service repair

Shortly after getting this, it wouldn't hold the temp in the fridge, freezer was always fine. The fridge would continually run and get warmer. Found out it was freezing up the coils and blocking airflow. Simple enough fix with new coils and sensor installed by a service tech who was great and very prompt. Haven't had a problem since - hoping this is a permanent fix as we like the unit overall. Like the flexibility of the shelves in the main fridge and the doors, very convenient. Also we love the look of this series of appliances.

Just after the warranty expired I came home from work to see that my refrigerator was 50 degrees and freezer was 30 and all my food was ruined. Maytag is completely unhelpful and they do not sell service manuals only expensive service.

I got a lemon!

9 days after I bought this the freezer vents frosted over and the fridge got warm. Thought we left the door open a crack so we turned it off to defrost it the old fashioned way. 3 days later it did it again. We called for service and they told us door was probably left open, we manually defrosted it. 3 days later it did it again, and again 3 days after that. This time service man replaced the "computer" in the back that tells it to defrost every three days and the little door that opens to let our the cold air in the top back of the fridge. He said he hopefully will never see us again. It's been about 2 weeks and so far so good. Let's hope the replacement computer isn't a lemon. It was good that the service was free, but they should have reimbursed us for the cost of our groceries each time the fridge got warm...

Bought this fridge a month ago and it's been working great so far. For the counter depth size, we find that there is plenty of space for a family of 5. I would definitely recommend this model. I would prefer an exterior water dispenser, but the other available counter depth models didn't seem to have as good reviews as this one. That being said, the interior dispenser works fine.

I bought this refrigerator along with matching kitchen appliances for my new home that was a vacant forclosure property. I made a lot of improvements in the house including a new kitchen. I selected Maytag because of the great reviews on this particular line of appliances and I was not disappointed. The fridge fit perfectly in the area I wanted it to be located. It is a counter depth, so I knew that the storage capacity would be limited compared to a full size. However, I was pleasently surpised at the ample amount of room inside the unit along with the convenient features. This piece blended perfectly with my new kitchen and really gave it the modern touch that I was looking for along with the other Maytag appliances. Very satisfied customer so far!

We purchased this Maytag fridge after doing a great deal of research on the various brands/options available. From all the reviews, it seemed that the majority of customer dissatisfaction with this particular unit stemmed more from user issues than performance or mechanical (as opposed to so many of the other brands which arrived with, or developed, severe defects). The fridge is attractive, efficient and quiet. To address some of the reviewers' complaints: "ice tray overflows and very difficult to retrieve spilled ice from underneath shelf" -- yes, it is very difficult to get to this area of the freezer, but problem is easily headed off by emptying the ice tray BEFORE it gets this full!; "ice cubes continue to shoot out onto bottom of freezer as tray is removed" -- turn off ice maker, remove tray, turn ice maker back on once tray is actually replaced; "right door pops open when closing left door" -- yes, it does, just bend your wrist a bit and close both doors at the same time (there's also an alarm letting you know someone has neglected to do this); "stainless steel is hard to clean" -- this is true of all stainless steel of this particular type (I would have preferred a non-mar stainless finish, but it is not available in this model); "freezer frosts up" -- yes, this happened to me (however, it was totally my fault. I had read the advice not to block the air vents in the fridge or the freezer, but inadvertently stocked the freezer drawer too high, blocking the air vents. The result was a frosted-up freezer. Haven't made that mistake again, and there has been no further issue.) If forced to come up with a negative, all I can come up with would be the thin line of insulation showing at the top corner edge of the fridge door; however, no one even notices it but me. All-in-all, I am very pleased with this Maytag Counter Depth Frenchdoor fridge. I was upset about having to replace our 15 yr old cabinet-finished model, but I do have to say that I really like this one.

We purchased this refrigerator about five years ago, expecting it would last quite a while with the Maytag brand. The freezer is small and never has worked right -- the door does not seal properly, and so it ices over frequently. The freezer handle now is getting wobbly, too, and I'm worried it will soon fall off. The water dispenser quit working almost immediately, although we didn't use it much as it is placed inconveniently inside the fridge. The wide compartment in the bottom of the refrigerator is really nice, but the cover broke after a year or so, and now the plastic parts that hold that tray in place are breaking, so we no longer can pull out the tray. It makes a noisy tapping sound at times, and the ice maker only works sporadically. All of the door seals are failing, and the left side of the French door (that slides under the right door) no longer bends/moves to slide in unless we slam the door a bit. Several times this has resulted in someone not closing the door all the way so it gets warm inside. Note that we are a family of 3 who doesn't beat up on the fridge -- it just isn't well made.

We bought this in December, at this point my husband just said he would like to take a shotgun to it. It has made a noise like someone tap dancing on tile several times a day since the first day. The first two times a repairman came out he thought he had it fixed but he didn't. Then we had someone else out and he said it was the damper and replaced it. Now it is making more noise and more often then before.

I purchased this fridge about a month ago and have been pleased w/its cooling performance. It seems fairly loud, however, in my small kitchen and a service tech will be called to assess the constant low humming sound when the compressor is on. Good Quality and fit/finish (not smudge proof). Large Dairy drawer not accessible w/o opening both doors. Water dispenser a plus.

Almost immediately after buying this two months ago, the freezer compartment started freezing over to the point that the light with would not work and the ice cube tray could not be removed. Had to "defrost" it with a hair dryer. Called Maytag(spent 37 minutes on the phone!) and they had no answers, so they arranged a service call. We waited all day and the serviceman never showed!We had the same model with the Jenn-Air label for 3 years in our previous home and loved it. Everyone talks about how "they don't make things the way they did in the old days"; I guess those old days were 3 years ago.
