I'd do anything to have my old washer back

This is my first experience with a HE washer. I have heard the rumors that they can be a pain in the neck with getting clothes clean, excessive lint, not getting all the clothing wet, etc. but I never thought it would be this bad. They never should have put a glass top on this thing b/c it allows you to see how inefficient it really is. The bulky items stay above the waterline and on top of that the agitator barely moves the clothing around. My clothing comes out with deodorant marks, dog hair, and lint all over them. The arm pits also don't smell clean either. My old cheapo agitator washer never had these problems, the only reason I got rid of it was b/c the balancer went. I know Maytag will probably say I'm using it incorrectly however I am following the instructions perfectly, using the appropriate amt of HE washing detergent and no matter what cycle I choose or what soil level I get the same results. The only feature I like is the soak option, which I feel like I have to do now on every load if I want my clothing to come out partially clean. The other thing that is bothersome is the length the washer takes to finish a cycle, wayyy longer than my old washer, I don't know how that is HE? Wish I could return it but I'd lose the money for the installation and have to pay for another installation, also not sure if its even possible to return it at this point. Home Depot give out this very strict policy about returning within 48 hours, its hard to know how something really works in that time frame. Very disappointed.

My machine is about 2 years old shortly after year one and the end of the warranty (for things other than motor and wash basket ) the wash plate stopped moving due to being warn out where it attaches to the shaft. About six months later the second wash plate stripped out also. Now the splutch kit needs to be changed. It also frequently goes extremely out of balance. We are a family of Five and probably use the machine more than most and it cleans clothes well when it works.

I purchased this washer in April 2017 from H/D. The machine started making funny grinding noise over this weekend. Had a tech come to house to repair. Tech said the insides are stripped, 300 plus in parts to repair and would be weeks to get parts. I called Maytag and they offered to send their own tech to see which parts and if any of them would be under warranty at a price of 109. I explained that I had an expectation that a washer would last longer then 31 months and spending another 109 dollars would be bad money after good with the 80 dollars for my tech. Maytag said take it or leave it. I am going to Lowes for a GE machine. DO NOT BUY THIS IT WONT LAST I will admit, Tina from Teenesse, the May Tag customer complaint person was nice and professional but not actually empowered to do anything to help. I will recommend to my 5 kids never buy May Tag.

Had recently moved to Tennessee area and needed a washer/dryer for our new home. This is the 3rd exact model washer we've purchased. We have this model in our former home and also in our vacation home. When our daughter and husband needed a new washer, they looked at ours and bought the same model. Vibrations on rinse and spin cycle seems excessive to us. Machine washes and rinses well. We had it checked by service department and were told this was a normal amount of vibration.

This is my first experience with the new technology, high efficiency type of washing machine, and as a result I was surprised by all the different, noisy sounds it makes. I think this is common, regardless of manufacturer or model -- but I write this so that other "new" purchasers of the new generation of washers have a heads-up on what they're getting. The high-efficiency sensors save electricity AND water, so the noisy trade-off is worth it.

non-agitator washer

The new washer without middle agitator is not providing enough mixing of the clothes especially when there are higher load or linens are washed. things get tangled up and not released during rinse cycles. Often the washing light blinked during wash cycle when there wasn't obvious high load. When in "Bulk/linen" washing mode the washer was not able to detect the height of the load and filled the tank all the way to the top during wash and rinse cycles. What a waste of the water.

this washer is quieter than our last matag doesn't spin dry as well as the old one but makes much less noise happy so far hope it last a little longer than the last one it went 8 years till is spun the bearings out

Bought new Washing machine because old Kenmore died after 5 years old machine was load thru out the wash and spin cycle. The new Maytag washer was the only washer that would fit in the space at the House. Also the machine is super quiet when it runs thru the cycles.

It's okay

I bought this 3 weeks ago to replace my Maytag Neptune which I had for 16 years with no problem at all until it gave in this month and that's the reason I bought another Maytag. However, this particular one is not as what I expected to be. Whenever I wash towels it doesn't spin very well, that is, after the drain and spin cycle I noticed that there is still a little water when I squeeze the towel. The towels are still wet not dry ready to go to the dryer. This only happens with towels, all others are okay. Also whenever the cycle switches there is some kind of sound that seems like something is breaking. I'm not very happy with this particular brand. I still miss my old Maytag Neptune.

Like having dials and not a computer board

Had machine for about a month. Its a bit noisier than my last machine and I don't feel it spins dry well enough. Otherwise its easy to use and gets the job done. So far I like the large capacity and no agitator is new to me, but seems to work well with items like king size comforters

I want my old wahsing machine back

This is the most expensive and also the worst washing machine I have ever owned. Even on the deep water setting some clothes ride high and almost dry for the entire wash cycle. The impeller does not move clothes from top to bottom. I have tried adding water from my laundry tub faucet but that water is not soapy. I have also kept my loads smaller than I would like trying to get all clothes wet and clean.

Worked great until recnently

I bought this last December. I only do a couple of loads a week and I wanted a low water energy saver magine and this was was great for 10 months. I used the nirmal cycle for my clothes and the bulky/sheets cycle for sheets, towels, and light quilts. I wash one set of full sheets and the cycle would just use enough water to wash the sheets, The same would happens for my set of towels and my quilt. Then suddenly in October it decided it needed to start added more water during the wash cycle when I was using the bulky/sheets cycle. And it adds a lot of water. It fills it up to the top. It only agitates about 3 minutues and then it adds a lot of water and then it agitates in all of that water. It then drains and rinses in water all the way to the top. I called and asked for service since it is still under warranty and was told that was how the low water wash works. I told them that it never did this before. I tried unplugging it over night so it could reset, but it didn't help. The warranty isn't good and the low water wash isn't good and I can only use one cycle on my nice new washing machine. Bummer.
