We bought this a month ago after our last dishwasher finally bit the dust. It is very quiet, and uses a fraction of the water of the old machine, and has a number of good energy saving features. My largest struggle is the placement of the controls makes them very difficult to access without opening the door due to there being almost no space between the counter top and the control panel on top of the door. This also makes the awesome display impossible to see and read during operation making it virtually pointless. We have also found that this machine is terrible in comparison to the old one at drying. Our old machine, when if finished the drying cycle, had everything very dry. This machine leaves a lot of moisture in general on everything. Not a lot of heavy water, but just not the good and dry that I want, meaning we have to hand dry everything if we have a second load to start soon, or we have to let it sit for several additional hours, which is kind of inconvenient.

I've now had this dishwasher for about a month and I'm happy with the features. It has a "sensor" clean that gauges the cleanliness of the dishes and adjusts accordingly. I also like that the top rack can adjust so my taller glassware and water bottles will fit. This dishwasher is super quiet compared to my last one. I can hardly tell it's on!Cons: I would like to have the soap dispenser a bit higher on the inside door so I can access it easily even with tall spatulas in the utensil holder.

The dishes came out so clean, especially with the silverware spray. After 2 weeks of use I only now realized that the silverware basket has a button to open one side. I don't know the purpose of this but maybe someone reading this will know. The normal wash cycle runs for 3 hrs. ( a bit long) The instructions say this is the most energy efficient cycle which I don't quite get but there is also a faster 1 hr. wash cycle

We have had this dishwasher now for about two months and have been very pleased. It gets my dishes so much cleaner than my old machine and requires less pre-soaking and scrubbing to get food off plates and bowls. The only complaint I have is that it does not get my dishes dry if I have anything plastic in the washer. I have heard taht this is pretty much the case with all new dishwashers so I do not think it is just an error with this one. I have a lot of plastic sippy cups and things for my two little boys so it is something that really affects me. Overall...I can handle hand drying a few dishes since they are at least getting very clean with this machine.

This is a nice dishwasher. I was in a position in which I had to buy a simple, inexpensive one, and this one has been better than I thought it would be. It is very quiet, which I like. The only issues I have are that it seems to use rinse aid faster than I thought, (although it might be normal compared with other dishwashers), and still sometimes leaves a bit of water on the dishes even with heat dry. It has a lot of space on the bottom rack, but most of the tines are fairly close so I have to get creative with some of my deeper bowls to get them to fit. It would hold a lot of plates, however, which would be nice for a large family, or a lot of guests. Does a good job on pots and pans, too. I'm pretty pleased.

Quietly clean but installation was not easy

Love the functions and it works great. Only had problems installing it. We have tiled floors, but not in the dishwasher cavity. The device was not easy to slide in and level up. Once it was in position, the bottom panel was difficult to install. OK, so the dog chewed up one of the plastic screws - i ordered and Whirlpool sent new ones right away. After it was all together, the door seemed to hit the opening which required more repositioning and EVENTUALLY it works.

I almost bought a Bosch because I thought less expensive models such as from GE & Whirlpool were simply not good performers. Boy was I wrong! I had seen good reviews but usually it is an average of good and bad opinions. I replaced a GE and the Whirlpool surprised me because it cleans properly even in the 1 hour cycle! and it is not noisy to boot. My previous one took close to 3 hours and was loud....I also had reservations "at first" against the controls on the top of the door, but you can actually see and operate with no problem. Highly recommended.

Just What I Was Looking For!!

We bought this dishwasher a little over a month ago. Our old Whirlpool dishwasher finally gave out after 12 years of awesomeness; the repair was going to be around $200 so we decided to invest in a new one instead. A couple features I loved about our old dishwasher, that had now become must-haves for our new, included:- The fold down platform in the top rack. I believe this is for large silverware pieces, but we use it for our kids' cup lids that have straws attached.- The silverware basket on the door/attach to the outside of the bottom rack. I think it is a waste of space for the silverware basket to be in the bottom rack.-The silverware basket fold down lids for the different sections. This dishwasher has them in smaller sections which is an improvement over the old DW that only had two large fold downs.At first, none of the dishwashers we looked at had these features. Then we found this one. It had the features I have grown to love. I also like the adjustable top rack and the silverware sprayer. The only minus, is I am not a fan of the controls being under the counter top. Not sure exactly why this is a new feature on almost all dishwashers. I like being able to see how much longer the cycle is, if set on delay when it will start, and the Clean indicator. Now I have no idea what is going on once I close the door. This is why I gave design 4 out of 5 stars. This DW is quieter than our old one.

I don't like too fancy or needing to take a course in how to use appliances. This was easy to figure out, our glasses became clear once again, the energy-saving hour mode does a great job for us and it has tremendous capacity. Very impressed which is not usually the case.Can't evaluate quality until we've had it a few years. So far, so good.
