Burner stayed turned on

I have only had this range 1.5 years and one of the burners did not actually turn off when in the off position.I have to turn it off with the circuit breaker to make sure the cook top is actually turned off. At least the indicator light for the cook top stayed in, so made me look to see what was wrong. Seems like quite the fire hazard.

I am having the exact same problem that Mad Mike from Wisconsin reported three weeks ago. I think the left burners are a fire hazard and we will discontinue using those until we can affect a repair or buy another range. Apparently it took Whirlpool 12 days to respond to Mad Mike despite his concerns of serious electrical/fire issues. I hope they will respond to me in a more timely manner. I am waiting on the phone to talk to someone as I write this.

Our old range was fading out (uneven heating, unreliable, tempermental, etc.) so I told my wife to pick out the new range that she wanted to have. After some investigation and research, she decided to go with this nice Whirlpool. We have always had good success with Whirlpool appliances (washing machine, dryer, refrigerator), so I greed with her selection - and I am Very Happy that I did! The range has nice features, is easy to program and operate, and works perfectly! I wouldn't change a thing. Nice Job, Whirlpool - and Thank You!

I bought this range just under two years ago. I have had nothing but trouble with it. The left front burner has always had issues. Whenever I use it, I Would hear clicking noises. Wasn't sure what it was. Come to find out it has an electrical issue. If I use this burner, it burns everything. It doesn't stay at it's set temperate. The warranty was only for a year and has went down hill when the year was up. This range is not built to last. Guess I will have to get a new one. This one is a fire hazard. Also the blue display lights up the kitchen at night. If I sleep on my couch I have to put a towel over it. Very disappointed.

I bought this stove about a month ago. I don't like the long time it takes for burners to heat up, they say its a new safety feature. I also do not like my big front burner on the left on front I like that on the right And left on back. Just not happy with it. Very disappointed. Takes forever to boil water.

Oven works well for baking and broiling. Very frustrated by irrational heating coils on stove top. Can't find a setting that allows us to efficiently heat water. Takes way too long to boil water for an egg.

I bought this range 1 month ago. Boy oh boy I was horribly upset. The electric burner took 7 plus minutes to bring pot of water to a boil and it was never a RAPID boil. I called the big box I bought it from and told them to come pick it up. My husband comes in from a road trip and discovers that maybe there is something wrong. Checks out everything and discoveres that the connections (set up by delivery) were not tight, he corrected that. HE COOKED on it that evening and promply said, yes this does not operate like the range we had for 20 years but it's ok. Due to a HUGE mix up at the big box they never came to pick up the range, thus we kept it. IN ALL HONESTY, I would NOT purchase this product again and I'm very skeptical about purchasing the Whirlpool brand ever. The design of the knobs is POOR. You can't tell where your setting is because the line is WHITE on a WHITE/BEIGE knob, They need a darker color and the knobs need to be placed in a better position. I've STEAMED my arm twice so far trying to adjust the temp. setting when there has been a pot on the Large burner to the rear right. Maybe next time Whirlpool will consider using REAL cooks when they design a range. There is no indicator on the oven that lets you know when the element is on/off. The clock disengages when you use the over all you see is the current temp. setting for the over. The only good thing about this range is the over capacity and the small back unit that vents the over you can use it as warmer.

Bought this on Wednesday delivered on Saturday called Monday to have this hunk of junk taken out our house. Burners cook slowly, 7 minutes to boil 2 cups of water (simmer) water never came to a rapid boil and frying a flattened out chicken breast never got a good crisp on it searing is a thing of the past with this range. Going to get an Amana. I should have read the reviews before making this purchase. Had it all of one week and now it's bye, bye. Quality is a thing of the past. It was an insult when I contacted Whirlpool and they suggested I learn to cook. I've been southern cooking for 30+ years. Better yet learn how to make a range would you. ZERO is a better rating but they don't offer you that choice for performance.

This stove was fine until I tried the oven - adjusting the temperature one wants for baking is impossible - you have to punch in so many codes it takes a rocket scientist. Why oh why did they do it that way? Not good at all.

My property manager ordered me this appliance and although I was weary of an all electric product I am so happy I have this stove. It's easy to clean with a wet rag and it heats up very fast. It does give off a slight odor the first few times then it's fine. I am bigger fan of Whirlpool now because of this stove.

We bought this to replace an old stove. The burners work great, we don't have to cook everything on "high" all the time like we did with our last stove. The dimensions were 100% accurate and it fit in prefect with our space. The timer feature is great!

bought this recently to replace another free standing stove that should have lasted longer. Concern about this one, now, is that when the oven is on, the heat transfers to the surface units. In fact, they as well as the surface in general, get right hot! Seems to me the insulation between oven and stove should not allow this to happen. Happened on our other range - we thought it was a defect. Is this just what we must put up with. Bad and dangerous design if it so.

The range works very well. Initially, though, I had problems with the installation. I got an F9 code after I wired according to the instructions. It wasn't until a friendly neighbor looked at it that it was discovered that a wire that didn't need to be hooked up because I had a four-pronged outlet instead of a three-pronged. Once that was corrected, I've had no issues with it.

The oven bakes very even and I enjoy baking with it. However, I am having to adjust to the range burners. It take forever to boil water or fry anything. I wish the UL had not changed the burner requirements. I am afraid it will be hard to do canning on this summer.

I bought this because I wanted a reliable, very basic range with two large coil burners and a non-self cleaning oven, and the overall ratings for this model were numerous and very high. It arrived when promised and the installation went smoothly. We were told that if we were dissatisfied for any reason within the first 48 hours we could call the number on a card given us by the installer, and they would pick it up and our money would be refunded. Unfortunately, it was a busy couple of days after it arrived, and when the coil burners took forever to heat a kettle or pot of water, I thought I must be imagining things. Turns out there's a "safety feature" in the coils, which shuts back the power when the sensor decides the coils have gotten too hot. If I tried to heat water in my whistling tea kettle to make a pot of tea, it never got heated to the rolling boil required to set off the whistle. When I put on a four quart pot of water to boil some pasta, the power was shut back automatically before it came to a boil. I would have to turn it off and then turn it back onto high so it would complete the job of boiling a kettle of water. I eventually discovered that if I put only enough water in my tea kettle for a single mug of tea, the tea kettle would whistle, but for more than that, the sensor would cause the coil to shut back to half power. You can tell that's what happens because there are two coils, and the inner one is the one that gets cut off when the sensor detects more heat than it's programmed to accept. Re: the oven. The instructions tell you NOT to test your oven's temperature with an oven thermometer, just to note whether food now takes a shorter or longer time to cook at the temperature you set it at and adjust your cooking time accordingly. Just out of curiosity, I tested it with the oven thermometer I've used for several years. I set the oven at 475 degrees. The thermometer reading when the oven said it had reached that temperature was 425 degrees. I have a pizza recipe from America's Test Kitchen that calls for an oven temperature of 500 degrees, but the oven will only allow a setting of 525 degrees, which is actually 475 degrees. It's too late to return this stove. I've had it about three weeks now. I set the timer when I put on the tea kettle so I don't forget about it. It's a quiet timer and not very insistent, so if I'm in the far end of my small house, I might not hear it. I was able to hear my old one even if I was in the basement or the shower. I wouldn't have thought they could "innovate" so much about a basic stove, nor that there would be so much to adjust to. The oven light works well, the burner setting dials are intuitive to use, although I'd like it if they were better marked. There's a barely discernible beige indicator line on the white dial. I have to look very closely to see that I've turned them off--probably not a bad thing, but annoying. The drip pans clean up very nicely with just a quick soak and a dish cloth. I love to cook and bake, and I'm sorry to have to give such a negative evaluation, but I'm so disappointed in this.
