I bought this about a month ago, it replaces a 18 year old Whirlpool microwave that finally quit working. This new microwave has so many new features that I am still learning how to use it. There are so many new automated features that help to take some of the guess work out timing and power levels settings. For me, the only short coming is the location of the light placement under the microwave. My old unit lit up the entire surface of my stove top but this one has the light at the back of it and it no longer lights up the entire stove top. This is my only frustrating complaint.

Have had this microwave for about 2 years. Did all it needed to do without a problem. Until the door switch malfunctioned. After some troubleshooting, web reviews, and a call to Whirlpool found out which switch went bad. funny thing though, whirlpool wouldn't sell me that particular switch. But would sell me the other ones if they turned out to be bad. The bad switch I was told would need a service call to have it replaced. Couldn't figure out why, Anyway, the bad switch costs about $4.50 that Whirlpool WOULDN'T sell me. But the other switches were about $26.00 which they would sell me. Still couldn't figure out why. Bottom line was I ordered the switch I needed from another appliance supply source and replaced it myself. Cost about $14.00 with shipping and about an hour of my time. Much better than a service call fee. Let alone the time I would have to wait to actually get someone to my home. It took 2 days for the part I ordered to get to me and I was looking at least a week out for a service call. Plus the cost of the service call. Now the microwave is running good as new. Still haven't figured out why Whirlpool wouldn't sell me the switch I needed.

Purchased to replace an 18-year old Whirlpool, the installation went smoothly. The form factor is unchanged. Set up was easy. It works well, and it's good to have a microwave whose magnetron isn't old and tired. The unit is well-made and seems solid, except as noted below. It's noticeably quieter in operation than the unit it replaced. Overall, I'm satisfied.
Some nits: the rollers for the turnable are flimsy and frail. They aren't going to last. And the completion sound is more like a completion symphony. Your choices are to have the sound on or off. You can't have a simple beep. And the setting is global, affecting the timer as well as the cooking functions. It seems a pretty stupid design decision. Allowing more watts – or at least lumens – in the over-range light would be useful.

3 years old and just starting falling apart about a year ago, finally the door just separated and fell off, well the glass part did. It's still on the hinges but unusable at this point. The handle started cracking and pulling away from the unit bit by bit. Called Whirlpool parts and the whole door assembly is going to cost $200.00. Looking for a new one when they go on sale for Black Friday.

The light went out within 2 months of purchase. The turntable frequently comes off track during use. Microwave has sparked before when the metal tray was in it. I took the metal tray out and have not had any more sparks. When baking potatoes using the potato button on the keypad the potatoes are never fully cooked til done.

Purchased to replace a similar model that performed well. The dimensions were the exact same as the original one that was built in. The features were the same with a few extras, and I had it installed within a matter of 20 minutes. The delivery service was exceptional, right on time. All in all extremely satisfied !

After having our previous microwave for over 10 years, I expected it would take some time to figure out the new controls and features. So far we have been pleasently surprised how intuitive it is to use. Also we are quickly learning how to use the automatic sensor for things like popcorn. It is taller and deeper than the old one, but my concern it would interfere with the cooking surface below it were unfounded.

My wife and I have used this microwave for over a year and it has worked well the whole time. We don't use any of the sensor stuff so we can't attest to those features, but the "normal" cooking ability of this microwave is great after 1 year!

This microwave came with my new house I bought only about two and a half months ago. I have never owned a mounted/over the stove type of microwave, so I thought it was pretty nifty to have this one. The microwave stopped working after two and a half months of maybe zero to two uses per day, it would turn on for two seconds, make a clicking nouse and shut itself off. I had to request a service technician to fix this microwave due to a component failure that the service technician didn't really know how or why this component fried or melted. So I'm a little skeptical now of the future of this microwave, but I'll be happy when it is fixed and I can use it again.
