Model: wtw7300dw0 (serial C52872388) washer we purchased 3 years ago has the same problem documented on this review page. We get white residue on black clothing. Some clothes don't even get wet! We had repair replace the mother board with no effect. He told us you have to add more water. Well ,if when we do that it doesn't work. We're replacing this washer ASAP.

This machine worked so so for the three years it held up. We felt the clothing never got completely clean. Plus the machine itself stunk even when we used the self cleaning function. Then after three years, it completely stpped working. The estimate to fix it is over $600. I called Whirlpool for support and they were less than helpful. They could have cared less that their product didn't last.

bought this top of the line washer approximately 3.5 years ago. Worked well enough, but started to give LF codes. Technician came out to tell us that the bearings were worn and it would not be worth fixing. I would expect an expensive washer to last at least 5-7 years. Very disappointing.

Have had this washer and dryer set for over a year and constantly have trouble with the spin cycle. It just doesnt stay balanced and spin properly. Now the machine just shuts down after the wash cycle and doesnt spin at all.

I am very disappointed with this expensive unit, it leaves residue all over black clothes. We have tried everything and can't prevent this from happening. I just tried to contact Whirlpool on the website and after giving them all the info they redirected me to a website where it costs $5 a question. I don' think I want to buy another whirlpool product after this experience.

This is THE WORST washing machine! It doesn't clean clothes and leaves residue all over dark clothes. I've tried to troublshoot this issue so many times and still my clothes are never fully clean, and sometimes end up dirtier than when I put them in. I have several complaints about this machine. First of all, the plastic lid started coming undone at the hinge just a few months after purchasing. It was a nuissance, but not as much as nuissance (or so I thought) as having someone come in to have it replaced. Unfortunately, it just kept getting worse and worse to the point where you had to press down on the corner of the lid by the hinge to get it to close or lock (F5 and E2 errors all over the place). Then just a few weeks ago it completely came apart from the hinge. I've currently got it rigged with electrical tape to attempt to hild it in place enough to close the lid. Pathetic. Never experienced such inferior crafting of an appliance in 40+ years. I should have been wary of a plastic lid to start with but you assume that a brand like Whirlpool would use quality plastic that doesn't break after normal if not light use (we're a family of two not 12!). Unfortunately, now the machine is no longer under warranty and the hassle I tried to save by living with the small annoyance will cost hundreds of dollars to repair. Suffice it to say I will not be repairing it when I can buy a new washing machine for a little more than the cost of the lid. In addition to the plastic lid, I also have found that it doesn't get my clothes as clean as I like. Sometimes clothes are still DRY after a wash. And I've experienced the problem of dark clothes needing the be re-washed because of dirt/lint being stuck to them after a wash. Once again, a problem I've never experienced with another machine. I had high hopes for this washer, but was left disappointed in it and whirlpool, in general, which up until this point I considered the brand of choice for many if not all appliances. Not sure my replacement machine will be a whirlpool.

I bought this washer off of someone just a few days ago as they were selling because the washer was making a loud noise when it's on the spin cycle, so I saw this as a DIY opportunity, but come to find out that the part i need is about to $250. I checked in with a specialist to get it repaired and they were going to charge me $300. Smh. I wouldn't recommend buying this washer. I'm just going to use it for now until i get another. This machine was bought in 2015 by the way. This machine was not very well crafted.

I have had this washer not even a year and hate it, actually thinking of selling it an being new, it doesn't clean at all clothes still smell after wash and all my black work pants come out with soap all over them, Ive tried the high water setting and the extra rinse cycle and using very little soap nothing works and clothes come out still dry in spots, I had a front load before which I loved so this is really hard to try and like!!

Worst piece of junk ever made. I've replaced the lid lock latch twice now and now after the last lock change I was able to get a total of 2 loads washed. Now it won't fill and the lid lock light is flashing and won't unlock. I've made sure I have water pressure and screens are clean. Reset many times. No error codes just doesn't do anything. Overpriced and cheaply made parts.

Really disappointed in Whirlpool and this machine. Bought this and a matching dryer in October 2016 and it Has died. Transmission went out, and repairman said it was not worth fusing. Unbelievable. House of 2 people, so it's not like it was overused. whirlpool said they would cover parts but not labor, biut repairman warmed there was potential danger in repairing...in that it could die and flood the house. Thought it might be lemon, and even told Whirlpool I would consider buying a new unit if they offers some kinds of substantial discount, but would not do. So very sad these units are nothing but plastic nowadays.

I bought this machine because I thought it would be better for my delicates and sweaters that I wear to work everyday. Instead it left all my delicates wrinkled with soap scum on them. I hang dry most of my delicates so I can't throw them in dryer to get out all the extra wrinkles. And the sweaters I had to spin twice because because they were so wet when the delicate cycle ended. Then when I took them out the sweaters were all stretched out. The sleeves hang down past my hands. I didn't put in any fabric softener or use too much soap. I put it to the 1 LINE on the measuring cup. I put the clothes in soccer ball size piles on the outside of the impeller like the instructions say. This machine is terrible for washing. I can't return it because I got it at HOWARD APPLIANCE in La Habra. Never buy anything there. Very noise too.

Bought this washer a little over two years ago and already the lid is failing. The lid is cracked where the hinge connects to the washer and I have to physically hold it down for the washer to start and have to hold it down to open it again.
Very disappointed that an expensive machine has broken so quickly. Seen many complaints about this same issue. Would not recommend until this issue is resolved.

I bought this one year and one month ago. I expect a washing machine to last more than a year. It never has cleaned clothes well and now it won't drain properly. After every cycle, I have to set the drain function to get the water out and because of this it takes forever to get laundry done. I would not recommend this washer. Overall I've been very dissappointed with the reliability of the Whirlpool products I've purchased over the last 3 years.

So after research we decided on this washer.. then the disappointment started. First off there is not enough water used to rinse clothes properly so detergent is left behind. This causes white residue on your clothes being left behind. So we started using deep water option. This helped a little but clothes still were not getting clean. So on to next problem. Washer would not power on so after reset washer would come on and stop mid cycle giving F6 and E2 codes. Was also seeing F2 E1 code. Just had a repairman come in to tell us bothe computer boards are bad and it would be over 650 dollars to fix. Oh did I mention this washer is just over 2 years old and how odd just out of warranty.. save your money!

I liked the idea of having an HE washer with no agitator to help "lengthen the life of my clothes," but this washer really sucks after a while. I've had it about 2 years, and cannot get rid of the white residue it leaves behind. I've tried the wash cycle with the suggested drop in cleaners, hot-hot water with bleach, changed soaps, used less soap, used no fabric softener, smaller loads, NOTHING WORKS! You can't control the water level (there is a deep water option that uses a bunch of water, and still doesn't help), and you'll have dry spots on your clothes with the smallest of loads. I don't think it moves your clothes around enough to really get them clean. Super frustrated that all my dark clothes have to be hand wiped off with a wet rag after EVERY wash, so they don't get ruined. If you wear a lot of dark/colored clothes, STAY AWAY! I'm already buying a new washer.... Going with a front load.

Bought this washer because of such a good Consumer Report rating as our front loader went haywire. It gets the clothing nice and clean clean but bulkier loads often have to be repositioned because they become unbalanced. Didn't realize there wasn't a rinse only cycle until after purchase.

We've had our magine for about 2.5 years. After about a year it started making a loud noise during the load sensing cycle. After it's first attempt the "add garment" light comes on, it tries again to complete the load sensing cycle and then shuts off with lid lock light flashing - it then takes literally 5 minutes for the lid lock to release. I've searched high and low for the cause and there is ZERO helpful information available on this machine. So frustrating! If the machine makes it through load senseing it will complete the wash until the final rinse/spin cycle at which point it will again turn off before the full cycle is complete leaving the clothes wet and soapy. We then have to fight with the dang thing to complete only the rinse/spin cycle which sometimes takes hours of trying to get the machine past the load sensing cycle once again.
Would love to know what's wrong with it so I can fix it. Spending $1000 on a machine just to have it breakdown after 1 year, and all but completely stop working after 2, is unacceptable.

I am highly disappointed with this item. My clothes have not washed very well since I have owned it. I thought maybe I was not doing the right setting or some malfunction possibly. However, after a year of owning I wish I had never purchased. It started also making a loud noise and was supposed to be quiet which is why I purchased. I wish I'd just gone with a front load, but now I'm stuck with this washer that I paid a lot of money for. Maybe if it had an agitator it would work better, because other whirlpool washer that I've had before with agitators wash really well. The only reason I give it two stars is because of the room. It has plenty of room. I feel like these new efficient washers are not as efficient because sometimes you have to wash your clothes twice and end up wasting just as much water as if you'd done with one wash on less water efficient washer.

Within the first year of having this washer the console went out two times. In the past two years it has went out three more times. Unless you have the money to buy a $200 part every six months, I would recommend not buying this washer.Whirlpool has done nothing to try to help me with this situation. I've had my washer and dryer about three years and am not at all happy. The washer does not clean well. My clothes come out with deodorant remaining. I have a t-shirt that I wore once to a ball game and must have gotten sunscreen on the shirt around the neckline. After several washes it still smells like sunscreen.

I've had my washer now for two years and over time it became progressively worse as far as how loud it is. This has to be a manufacturer defect. It washes my clothes well but the noise and airplane sounding experience that I deal with every time I have to wash is just unbearable. Way to nice of a machine to cost as much as it did and have to hear a bearing whining sound. There should be a recall for this issue.

I had a Samsung washer previously for only 5 years. I was not happy with how long it lasted. The stabilizer arms needed replacing and it wasn't worth fixing because I was advised they may break again soon. I am happy now with my more dependable Whirlpool.

I am so disappointed in this washer. I have tried many different techniques to get my clothes to come out clean, but the dark clothes continue to come out with dirty, disgusting caked-like dust on them (see attached picture). I have tried additional water, the stacking technique, the balling technique, different detergent, cleaning the washer monthly - but NOTHING seems to work. I really want to be happy with this purchase, but I am so very disappointed in the way my clothes come out of the washer. The darks are dirtier than when they went in, the long sleeve shirts are twisted terribly tight, and then some clothes aren't even fully wet and come out with dry spots. I would really appreciate a follow-up from a Whirlpool rep - thank you!

Best Washer I've Ever Owned

I've been married for 48 years and I've had several washers over the years. So, I feel qualified to declare that this is the best washer I've ever owned! I've had this washer for three years now and it has never disappointed me. My laundry always comes out clean and spot free. The lady that sold me the washer explained how to load it and to be very careful not to use too much detergent. I use laundry pods, so no problem.
I was a little leery of the adaptive water level, because I always thought you had to have a lot of water to get clothes clean. However, I've come to appreciate that I'm not dumping unnecessary gallons of water into the septic system. This washer is also very quiet, perhaps because it isn't taking a long time to fill up with water. The spin cycle is quiet, too.
One of the main reasons I got this washer was that I was tired of having to take my king-size quilts and blankets to the laundromat. This washer does a dandy job on these bulky items.
I definitely plan to buy this washer again, because I am moving across country and will need new appliances when I get to my new home.

I bought the washer and dryer set just under 2 years ago. The dryer works fine. The washer, however, is another story. I guess it's OK if you just want to wash clothes, and don't really care if they get truly clean, but forget washing anything heavier, like a cotton blanket. The cycle will get hung and never finish up. Every time, I have to reposition the blanket, which is really fun in hot water, and still does nothing to get the cycle to continue. I end up having to stop the washer and finish washing the blanket using the "Rinse and Spin" feature. I don't like the computerized controls either, and wish I had bought a washer that had the dial so I could control what is going on. Plus I have no idea why the basket is so large when you can't really put that much clothing/blankets in it. I wish I had my old washer back.

I use the deep water feature on every cycle and it is still not enough water. If I throw in a folded dish towel, it comes out just like it went in, folded and dirty. Incredibly disappointing. Doesn't rinse well either.

I've had this washer and dryer set for about 8 months. Terrible cleaning results from washer, and holesin clothes from the dryer. Washer doesn't rinse out completely, leaves detergent residue and dirt on clothes. I have to use the deep water, extra rinse cycle on EVERY load, so, how is this efficient? After saving to hopefully buy a great washer I was so disappointed with this machine. It doesn't remove anything. I pretreat and scrub my clothes before I wash them, and still not much luck. Also, when I pull clothes out of the laundry that should be clean they are caked with stuff that wasn't originally on them when I put them in the washer, so I am scrubbing my clothes after I wash them as well. I have had repair men out 4 times and shown them the state of my clothes, but nothing they have done has helped. I have switched detergents and softness, anything and everything to help and its just horrible. I'm sad now as a single mom with lots of laundry, this is what I picked and feel stuck with.

I am very disappointed in our purchase. We bought it for the capacity and adaptive wash technology; however, the technology failed us in the end. The console and/or motherboard died less than 3 years into us having it. These parts are extremely expensive to replace, and we're left buying a brand new washing machine or repairing it for more than what we paid for it. Original purchase date was Sept. 2015. Think twice before you a washer/dryer with an electronic panel. When we called customer service, the rep alluded as much to us on the phone. Within that three years we also had a handful of times where the machine wouldn't fully spin clothes, so they were very wet after cycle completed and we needed to re-run the rinse/spin cycle.

Bought this washer brand new 2 years ago and I have had to use the 1 year warranty that came with my washer and am now on the 2nd time using the Extended warranty I purchased for the washer. The motherboard has had to be replaced TWICE and now I do not know what is going on with my washer. Currently waiting for someone to come out and look at it. Very disappointed in this washer as I was told it was a great washer.

Do NOT buy!
Horrible washer! I've had this washer for a few years now and am ready to put it curbside!
Cons- barely covers clothing with water. Leaves detergent/fab softener spots on everything (even after rewashing a few times). Everything comes out in a tangled, hard-wrinkled mess, (have to rewash to get rid of wrinkles). Stops with a few minutes left...just stops, no beeps or bings or anything..just stops! Even though i select a cold water wash, it rinses in hot water (why, why bother with a temp selection if it's just going to do what it wants anyway, why i say?!)!!! Keeps adding time to the wash cycle. You can look to see that you have 37 minutes left, go back in 5 minutes and it's now 49 minutes, again, i ask why?!
Pros-When it's out of my home!

I bought my Whirlpool Cabrio in 2015. I loved the deep tubs! The worst part is the noise. It's gotten worse over time. I have shined light inside as it washes. I've yet to understand how my clothes get cleaned. I honestly feel it just wets them, spins out and that's it. I paid to much for this to cost me more money in repairs.

Extremely happy that I bought this machine. I thought my 25 year machine was working well, but what a difference in how clean the clothes get with so much less detergent, and all of the water is spun out, so everything dries faster. And the capacity is amazing! No agitator taking up space.
